Combine — play both at onceswitching tabs doesn't stop the other engine, it just keeps running quietly — this decides whether it's actually audible
Tone Matchdragging either engine's Carrier tone automatically retunes the other to the nearest octave — same note, different register, rather than two unrelated pitches. Matters most with Combine on: two close-but-different frequencies playing together create an audible, unpleasant wobble; an octave apart, they sound like one note instead of a clash. Only affects Carrier tone — Beat frequency and band are unrelated to this, and Session Arc already handles keeping both engines on the same target if that's what you want
Link Bandspicking a brain state on either engine sets the same one on both, rather than choosing them separately. Off by default — the two engines work differently enough (Low is felt as much as heard, High is the classic audible binaural range) that running them on different bands on purpose is a real, deliberate combination, not a mistake. Only matters when you're picking bands by hand — Session Arc already moves both engines together on its own once it's running
Binaural needs headphones — each ear hears a different pitch. Isochronic pulses one tone and works fine over speakers.
