Live Session Behavior
These apply the next time you start a session with Luminous or Screen Mode turned on — on the Session page itself, they stay out of the way as simple on/off toggles.

Generating a signal — no real embedded content
These three only apply when Luminous makes up its own pattern — the signal sent to external hardware, or Screen Mode's flicker when the track playing has no real embedded signal. None of them affect decoding a real Lumasonic, SpectraStrobe, or AudioStrobe track.

Screen Mode follows the musicthe same idea as above, but for the on-screen flicker — the flash rate stays exactly where it already is, anchored to the tone engine and kept within the same safety-checked range as always. What changes is intensity: quiet passages dim it down, louder or fuller moments hit harder, so it feels genuinely locked in to what's playing instead of a fixed pulse running underneath it. Real beat-by-beat flash-syncing was considered and deliberately set aside — it needs the kind of sharp, percussive hits that ambient and embient-style tracks mostly don't have, and letting raw audio drive the rate itself (rather than just intensity) is exactly the kind of unpredictable pattern the safety design elsewhere on this page exists to avoid
Follow depthhow much the music actually moves the brightness. Low keeps it close to the steady baseline with just a hint of movement; high makes quiet and loud moments feel dramatically different. 0% is identical to Screen Mode follows the music being off

Flash duty cyclehow much of each cycle the flash is on. Lower means a shorter flash against a longer dark phase, which reads as a much more distinct flicker at faster rates — and is a stronger stimulus, not just a look. 50% is an even on/off

Decoding a real embedded signal
Decoder sensitivityhow weak a signal still counts as real — 5 is the practical floor. SpectraStrobe runs more sensitive than this at every level, since it reads dimmer than a Kasina decoding the same file. Only matters for real tracks — nothing to detect in a generated signal

Flicker contrasthow hard the off-phase is driven to true black. Higher gives a sharper, more distinct strobe — matters most at 15Hz and above, where a soft fade reads as a continuous glow instead of a flicker. Lower is gentler
